The television is on again. You’re lying on the couch, with remote in hand. You could be bored. You’re not sure what to do with yourself. Suddenly Netflix is asking, “Are you still watching?” These are signs your creativity could be blocked. Uh oh. First off, it’s okay. Don’t blame yourself if something is off. It just means it’s time to help yourself. Time to unblock the well of creativity that is within all of us. Here are a few ways to unblock your creativity…

Stones have a history in many cultures, from talismans to guiding souls in the afterlife. Stones can be used for meditating or for keeping around to enhance your creativity. They are known to bring balance within ourselves and each stone can help strengthen areas in your life. Here is a list of stones to enhance your creativity.

I often hear people say, “I can’t meditate.” Right there you are shutting the door on the possibility of meditation. Meditation is our way of connecting to our inner self. Five minutes out of your day to focus on what you want in your life is just the beginning. Concentrating on the flow of creativity inside yourself can only help.

Affirmations are positive statements you can say to yourself to help you believe them. “Creativity flows through me. I am filled with creativity every day.” Repeat these affirmations as often as you can. Soon you’ll start to believe them and in yourself.

Get Inspired

Visit beautiful, bright, and positive websites that feature creativity or the type of art you love. Seeing creativity in action will inspire you. Creativity wants to create. It wants to flow through you. Some of us need a little seeing in order to believe it is possible.

Take action. What type of creativity would you like to enhance? Are you a painter? Take out a canvas, paints, and brushes and get started. Paint lines, textures, or a flower. It doesn’t have to be perfect. You just have to begin. Are you a writer? Get out a journal or notebook and write whatever is on your mind. The action is a start and more writing will begin to flow.

Try one or more of these steps and you’ll begin to feel the creativity again. In order to keep the flow of creativity within myself I continue with affirmations and meditations. Come on, friends. Be like Nike, and just do it.
